I always get complaints that there's too much icing

Who are these people, and why are they complaining about extra good bits?
More seriously, I put enough into the middle to ensure it's covered, then spread the top around--spread it to the thickness I want, and sometimes put extra into storage.
But, seriously, too much icing is a valid complaint? How?
